WHAT
THIS
MERCH
IS
FOR

Experimental Bitch was just shy of $1,000 for their UNSEASONING CAMPAIGN goal, and this branded ExB merch will help them recover that difference in funding. Proceeds from these items not only supports Made-By-Mimzy, a woman-owned small business, but also supports queer artists working with Experimental Bitch on their 2023 projects.

In November 2022, Experimental Bitch announced its UNSEASONING. ExB's UNSEASONING campaign is in direct opposition to a traditional theatrical season. ExB is no longer bound to the standard development production timeline and is instead committing to artists projects’ from seed to stage, encouraging the creative process above traditional structures.

ABOUT EXPERIMENTAL BITCH:

Experimental Bitch (ExB) is a feminist arts producing company committed to creating, developing and producing badly-behaved, genre-defying performance work by emerging TGNC, queer and women+ artists. By re-claiming the title of “bitch” and blowing up the barriers surrounding femininity, feminism and the hierarchies within sexuality and gender, ExB celebrates the bitch in each of you.

Face your fear. Face the bitch. Love the bitch.

WHAT THE EXPERIMENTAL BITCHES ARE UP TO:

  • Tanya’s Lit Clit

    • On March 12, 2023 Tanya’s Lit Clit performed as a part of New York Theatre Barn’s Choreography Lab. The moderators (Laurence O'Keefe and Kevin Murphy) gave positive feedback about the music, overall composition and choreography. It was such a valuable, helpful, and exciting workshop for the whole team and everyone learned so much. Gratitude abounds.

    • Tanya's Lit Clit received a workshop at the Park Avenue Armory on May 9th, 2022.

    • Commissioned in 2020, Tanya's Lit Clit by Emma Goldman-Sherman is a musical phantasmagory featuring original music, text and dance that brings those living with chronic illness disabilities to the forefront with a cast of disabled and non-disabled performers.

    • In 2023, Experimental Bitch is continuing to develop the music and finalize the score and script for Tanya’s Lit Clit. Your support will allow for a writers’ retreat for this work to be accomplished!

  • Bitchin' Heals.

    • This coming summer, ExB is partnering with JACK in Brooklyn NY to present Bitchin’ Heals programming live and in continuation from 2022’s program.

    • In 2022, ExB launched Bitchin' Heals: a virtual weekend of low-to-no cost workshops for artists to connect with and nourish both themselves and each other. With accessibility at the forefront, Bitchin' Heals 2022 was a container cultivated by and for community members, culminating in a panel on sustainability for disabled and marginalized artists.

  • Experimental Bitch's other ongoing artist-forward practices.

    • ExB commissions works that not only falls within its missions to support emerging TGNC and women artists but also speaks to communities that are under-resourced in the theater industry and in society more broadly.

    • ExB also looks for artists with a strong point of view and rigorous artistic practice.

    • Next, ExB collaboratively produces alongside independent artists with pre-existing developmental support.

    • Finally, ExB builds community programming to foster civic engagement, encourage cross cultural conversation, and build community.

Experimental Bitch's work is made possible with support from NY State Council on the Arts, NYC Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council, Leon Levy Foundation, Cultural Solidarity Fund, and Experimental Bitch donors.

ExB are proud members of A.R.T./NY and fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas.
